Interfor announces Q4 cut in lumber production

Darpan News Desk The Canadian Press, 20 Oct, 2022 04:04 PM
  • Interfor announces Q4 cut in lumber production

BURNABY, B.C. - Interfor says it will reduce lumber production in the fourth quarter of 2022 due to reduced demand.

The forest products company says it's reducing output by 17 per cent of its quarterly capacity, or about 200 million board feet.

It says economic conditions and market uncertainty are leading to reduced demand for lumber.

The temporary output cut will be spread across the company's operating regions and timed around U.S. Thanksgiving and Christmas holiday periods.

Interfor says it expects to resume its normal schedule in January but will be monitoring the market closely in case further adjustments are necessary.

Interfor is scheduled to release its third-quarter results on Nov. 3.

No Lawn? All Lawn? Blended, Bee-friendly Lawn Can Be A Good Compromise
Turf grass may be an attractive groundcover for homeowners but it doesn't hold much appeal for pollinators. Add some broadleaf plants with flowers to the mix, however, and it's a different story: great forage for the birds and the bees. Lower maintenance, too.

BENTON, Calif. - The burly Labrador retriever sticks out his wide snout to sniff the dirt and dusty air. He's clearly excited as he runs, yelping, through the high desert of California's Eastern Sierra region.
