  • Surrey resident Mandeep Maan wins $2M in BC/49 draw, “I Told my Wife and She Started Crying!”:

Mandeep Maan couldn’t believe the number of zeroes he was seeing after learning he won the $2-million jackpot from the BC/49 draw on August 17, 2022.

“When I learned I won, I was in my truck and started shaking,” said Maan, who checked his ticket on BCLC’s Lotto! app. The Surrey resident was most excited to tell his wife and children of his win.

“I told my wife and she started crying. She woke up our kids and they started crying as well – at first, they thought something bad happened!”

Maan plays the lottery regularly and purchased the winning ticket at Town Pantry on 88 Avenue in Langley. He plans on helping his daughter with her education but is otherwise taking some time to decide what’s next.

On how it feels to win the lottery?

“It feels great, I feel very lucky to have won the lottery. It’s going to make things smoother for helping my kids.”

So far in 2022, British Columbians have won more than $18 million in BC/49 prizes.
