1 arrested and drugs seized at a Surrey home

One person has been arrested and a large amount of illicit drugs and weapons have been seized following a police raid on a home in Surrey.

Surrey R-C-M-P say they served a search warrant at the home on November 4th, where officers seized a large amount of fentanyl, cocaine and methamphetamine, as well as multiple guns, ammunition and body armour.

A 24-year-old man was arrested for possession for the purpose of trafficking.

Police say the suspect also has a warrant out for his arrest in Saskatchewan, and he has since been transferred to Regina.

He then takes the victim’s card, pretends to make a transaction, has the victim put in their PIN number, and gives a bogus card back to the victim.

U.S. trade ambassador to visit Canada next week

U.S. Trade Representative Katherine Tai will travel north of the border next week to meet with her Canadian counterpart, Mary Ng. Tai's office says the ambassador will hold two days of meetings May 5-6 with Ng, Canada's international trade minister, in Ottawa and Toronto.
