There are 145 new COVID-19 cases over the past 3 days. Fri to Sat 57 cases, Sat to Sun 50 cases, Sun to Mon 38 new cases. There has been 147,549 total cases (impacted by historic stat correction). Rolling 7 day now 62 cases per day. Lowest since Aug 13.

78.1% of all adults in BC have received at least 1 COVID-19 dose, 76.8% of those 12-over have received at least one dose. BC has administered 4,886,709 doses, with 1,320,194 second doses.

More than 427,000 doses of vaccine were administered last week. The highest week for BC so far.

5 deaths over the last 72 hours which includes a person in their 20s. Total deaths sitting at 754. 

Cases by health authority 48 - Coastal, 68 - Fraser, 1 - Island, 26 - Interior, 0 - Northern. Surrey still presents a high scale count however it is down from the previous state. 

There are 107 people in hospital with COVID, including 37 in ICU. There are 930 active cases. The first time active cases is below 1,000 since AUGUST 29.

Variants make up between 80 to 90% of BC's COVID cases. The Delta variant now makes up 12% of the total variant cases. "We are seeing good protection through immunization."

Northern Health still lags behind other health authorities in terms of vaccination for first doses.

25% of the 12+ population across the province are now fully immunized.

The COVID case rate is about 15 out of 100,000 in population for those 7 days after a second dose. It is about 30 out of 100,000 for those who are unvaccinated or within 21 days of first shot.

Dr. Bonnie Henry says the vaccine effectiveness in BC is about 70%, says this is very good news and shows the vaccines are working.
