Eighteen people are in hospital after a school bus collided with a tanker truck in South Carolina.

Most of the injured were children from an area high school, as well as one adult.

The bus was carrying 36 passengers when it collided with the tanker at about 4 p-m at an intersection in Lexington County.

There was no immediate information on their conditions or the cause of the crash.
