2 Quebecers Arrested For Allegedly Stealing Mail Containing Cash

The Canadian Press, 28 May, 2016 11:49 AM
SEPT-ILES, Que. — Quebec provincial police have arrested two suspects who allegedly stole mail that was filled with cash.

The accused allegedly intercepted the packages which were en route to financial institutions in small villages on the Lower North Shore.

The institutions are located in very isolated areas, which is why the packages had to be delivered by plane or boat.

Police say one of the suspects intercepted the packages as they were being transported.

Gino Hounsell, 39, was arraigned on a robbery charge Thursday in Sept-Iles.

His accomplice, whose name was not made public, was released under promise to appear at a later date.
