As of Tuesday, March 15, 2022, 90.7% (4,523,299) of eligible people five and older in B.C. have received their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine and 86.8% (4,326,812) have received their second dose.

In addition, 93.4% (4,328,091) of eligible people 12 and older have received their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine, 90.9% (4,213,713) received their second dose and 56.7% (2,628,454) have received a third dose.

Also, 93.7% (4,053,348) of eligible adults in B.C. have received their first dose, 91.3% (3,950,013) received their second dose and 58.6% (2,533,113) have received a third dose.

B.C. is reporting 237 new cases of COVID-19, for a total of 352,965 cases in the province.

Note: The numbers of new and total cases are provisional due to a delayed data refresh.

The new cases include:

  • Fraser Health: 70
  • Vancouver Coastal Health: 40
  • Interior Health: 69
  • Northern Health: 24
  • Island Health: 34
  • People who reside outside of Canada: zero

There are 345 individuals hospitalized with COVID-19 and 50 are in intensive care.

In the past 24 hours, no new deaths have been reported, for an overall total of 2,946.

There have been no new health-care facility outbreaks. The outbreaks at Mission Creek Landing, Williams Lake Seniors Village, Fischer Place (Interior Health), Selkirk Seniors Village and Parkwood Court (Island Health) have been declared over, for a total of eight facilities with ongoing outbreaks, including:

  • long-term care:
    • Ponderosa, Hillside Village (Interior Health)
    • Sidney Care Home, Berwick House Gordon Head, The Heights at Mt. View, Greenwoods, Luther Court and Yucalta Lodge (Island Health)
  • acute care:
    • none
  • assisted or independent living:
    • none

Note: Due to a delayed refresh in BC Centre for Disease Control data, the update on cases and hospitalizations by vaccination status is unavailable.

Since December 2020, the Province has administered 11,420,286 doses of Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna, AstraZeneca and Pfizer Pediatric COVID-19 vaccines.

Just after 3 a.m. on October 19, a frontline officer from the Coquitlam RCMP was approached and asked to help locate a man, who had allegedly left his home under the influence of drugs and alcohol and was wearing only a t-shirt and underwear. There are 4,913 active cases of COVID-19 in the province, and 191,476 people who tested positive have recovered. Of the active cases, 382 individuals are in hospital and 146 are in intensive care. The remaining people are recovering at home in self-isolation.
