As of Tuesday, March 22, 2022, 90.8% (4,525,621) of eligible people five and older in B.C. have received their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine and 87.1% (4,339,973) have received their second dose.

In addition, 93.4% (4,329,816) of eligible people 12 and older in B.C. have received their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine, 91.0% (4,217,052) received their second dose and 57.1% (2,646,447) have received a third dose.

Also, 93.8% (4,054,932) of all eligible adults in B.C. have received their first dose, 91.4% (3,952,848) received their second dose and 58.9% (2,547,329) have received a third dose.

B.C. is reporting 259 new cases of COVID-19, for a total of 354,343 cases in the province.

Note: The numbers of new and total cases are provisional due to a delayed data refresh.

The new cases include:

  • Fraser Health: 47
  • Vancouver Coastal Health: 63
  • Interior Health: 76
  • Northern Health: 23
  • Island Health: 50
  • People who reside outside of Canada: zero

There are 254 individuals hospitalized with COVID-19 and 48 are in intensive care.

In the past 24 hours, no new deaths have been reported, for an overall total of 2,974.

There have been no new health-care facility outbreaks. The outbreaks at Ponderosa (Interior Health), Berwick House Gordon Head and Luther Court (Island Health) have been declared over, for a total of five facilities with ongoing outbreaks, including:

  • long-term care:
    • Hillside Village (Interior Health)
    • The Heights at Mt. View, Yucalta Lodge and Selkirk Seniors Village (Island Health)
  • acute care:
    • Surrey Memorial Hospital (Fraser Health)
  • assisted or independent living:
    • none

From March 14-20, people not fully vaccinated accounted for 16.2% of cases. From March 7-20, they accounted for 26.2% of hospitalizations.

Past week cases (March 14-20) - Total 1,403

  • Not vaccinated: 202 (14.4%)
  • Partially vaccinated: 25 (1.8%)
  • Fully vaccinated: 1,176 (83.8%)

Past two weeks cases hospitalized (March 7-20) - Total 344

  • Not vaccinated: 80 (23.3%)
  • Partially vaccinated: 10 (2.9%)
  • Fully vaccinated: 254 (73.8%)

Past week, cases per 100,000 population after adjusting for age (March 14-20)

  • Not vaccinated: 58.0
  • Partially vaccinated: 16.8
  • Fully vaccinated: 25.2

Past two weeks, cases hospitalized per 100,000 population after adjusting for age (March 7-20

  • Not vaccinated: 22.5
  • Partially vaccinated: 9.1
  • Fully vaccinated: 5.4

Since December 2020, the Province has administered 11,453,778 doses of Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna, AstraZeneca and Pfizer Pediatric COVID-19 vaccines.
