Abbotsford Toddler Tumbles From Third-floor Window After Climbing Couch

The Canadian Press, 15 Aug, 2016 09:50 AM
ABBOTSFORD, B.C. — A toddler is in hospital with serious injuries after tumbling out of a third-storey window.

Abbotsford police say a four year old broke both femurs after climbing onto a couch, pushing out a window screen and falling through.

The child is expected to make a full recovery.

An adult family member was home at the time of the incident.

Police say these types of incidents are common in the summer and are reminding parents to keep furniture away from open windows.

They say children can fall through spaces as narrow as four inches and that window guards or locks should be used.
