Arrest in fatal shooting: VPD

A man has been arrested following a fatal shooting in East Vancouver last month.

VPD officers responded when two men were shot near Victoria Drive and East 28 Avenue on September 10 just after midnight. Both men were taken to hospital for serious injuries. Zuhoruddin Mansoori, 35, died on Monday morning from his injuries. The second victim is recovering.

VPD homicide detectives arrested one man on October 18. No charges have been laid and the incident remains under investigation.

This is Vancouver’s 13^th homicide of the year.

Wilkins pleaded guilty in February 2021 to enticing a minor, traveling with the intent to engage in a sexual act with a minor and possessing and receiving child pornography. Wilkins was a Transit Security Administration agent at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport and has been in custody since his arrest in 2018.

As the driver attempted to flee, he dropped a loaded handgun as he was running away from police. SGET officers took possession of the suspected firearm. The passenger was arrested a short distance away with assistance from the Metro Vancouver Transit Police.
