Avian flu detected at another farm

Darpan News Desk The Canadian Press, 04 Dec, 2024 01:27 PM
  • Avian flu detected at another farm

Another B-C commercial poultry flock has been added to the growing list of operations where the avian flu has been detected.

It's the fifth flock where the virus has been detected in as many days, all in Abbotsford.

It brings the total number of infected facilities in B-C to 63.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency says avian influenza is not a food safety concern, and there is no evidence to suggest that eating cooked poultry or eggs could transmit the virus to humans.
