Back-To-Back Winter Storms Could Impact Atlantic Canada This Week

Darpan News Desk The Canadian Press, 07 Feb, 2016 01:26 PM
HALIFAX — Environment Canada is warning some Atlantic Canadians to brace for back-to-back winter storms early this week.

The national weather forecaster says a significant winter storm is expected to develop off the United States eastern seaboard today and track northward on Monday.

It says snow will begin in Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island and southern New Brunswick on Monday afternoon, and Newfoundland will start seeing snow Monday evening.

Nova Scotia could be the hardest hit with more than 25 centimetres expected.

A second winter system is expected to impact Newfoundland on Tuesday night and into Wednesday with additional snowfall and strong winds.

Environment Canada says the exact track of these two storms is uncertain and forecasts could change.
