  • Bail Hearing For Quebecer Arraigned In YouTube Murder Threats Against Arabs
MONTREAL — A bail hearing is scheduled today for a Montreal man arrested in connection with a YouTube video in which someone wearing a Joker mask says one Arab would be murdered in Quebec every week.

Jesse Pelletier was arraigned last Wednesday on charges of uttering threats, possession of a false weapon, public incitement of hatred and hoax regarding terrorist activities.

The person in the video was wearing a Joker mask and could be seen brandishing what looked like a pistol as he made the threats and spoke about the Nov. 13 terrorist attacks in Paris that left 130 people dead.

Pelletier's lawyer has described the video as "a bad joke."

The 24-year-old Pelletier, who has a bone defect from birth and suffered an accident about a year ago, appeared in court last week in a wheelchair.
