Body Found In Burned SUV In Surrey

    Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has been called in after a body was found in a burned vehicle in Surrey this morning.
     
    The vehicle was discovered in flames early Wednesday morning on 24th Avenue, triggering a heavy police response in the area. Officers at the scene found someone dead in the SUV.
     
    "Police are currently in the evidence gathering phase, no further information will be provided at this time," the Surrey detachment said in a news release.
     
     
    City crews closed off 24th Avenue from 184th to 188th streets and 25th Avenue at 188th to make way for the investigation. Mounties said they expect the area will be closed off "for a significant amount of time."
