Darpan News Desk The Canadian Press, 01 Sep, 2016 11:46 AM
RED DEER, Alta. — A man is in custody after a hospital in central Alberta was locked down following threats to staff.

RCMP say the Red Deer Regional Hospital was closed for almost an hour on Wednesday night after a threat was called in.

Police say the call came from a man who had gone to the hospital earlier, but left again without receiving treatment.

Officers were sent to the hospital as well as to a Red Deer home, where a suspect was arrested without incident.

No one was injured and patient services were not interrupted during the lockdown.

A 22-year-old man is facing a charge of uttering threats and is to undergo a mental-health assessment.

His name is not being released at this time.
