Coquitlam Man, 54, Identified As Pilot Killed In Powell River Plane Crash

Darpan News Desk The Canadian Press, 07 Sep, 2016 11:49 AM
VICTORIA — The British Columbia Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of a man who died after a plane crash in Powell River on Sunday.

He was 54-year-old David Tetarenko of Coquitlam, B.C.

The service says he was the pilot and only occupant of a Piper Twin Comanche airplane that was heading towards the Powell River airport around 11:15 a.m.

The service says witnesses noted the plane behaving oddly in the air before it crashed into a vacant cleared area.

It says Tetarenko was dead at the scene, and the B.C. Coroners Service, Transportation Safety Board and RCMP continue to investigate the death.
