DELTA, B.C. - A person has been killed in a shooting in Delta, B.C.
A statement from Delta Police says officers responded to a call of shots fired just after 2 a.m. at a home on the northeast side of the city.
The unnamed male victim died at the scene.
Police say the deceased and the home are known to them.
They say the shooting is believed to be targeted.
The strict safety plans in place, which include enhanced cleaning protocols, frequent hand hygiene, and requiring students and staff to stay home when ill, are designed to reduce the risk of transmission of COVID-19 as well as colds and flu.
The employee complied, and the suspect grabbed an undisclosed amount of money before leaving the scene. He was last observed heading north on Columbia on a small bike.

A statement from police says he may have been on the ground for up to 12 hours before help was called.

Investigators later discovered the 20-year-old man had been sleeping under a highway bridge when he was set on fire and his belongings taken.
