Father, Son Face Attempted Murder Charges In 'Brutal' B.C. Assault

Darpan News Desk The Canadian Press, 09 Nov, 2016 11:35 AM
PRINCE GEORGE, B.C. — Police say a father and his son are facing charges of kidnapping, assault and attempted murder after a woman was attacked on a remote road near Prince George, B.C.

RCMP say the 30-year-old woman was found late Saturday by a driver travelling along Highway 16, about 50 kilometres east of the city.

They say in a news release that initial indications are she had been driven down a remote forest service road, where she was "brutally" attacked.

Police say the woman eventually escaped and walked about seven kilometres to the highway, where she was found and taken to hospital for treatment.

Officers have arrested 53-year-old Stanley Filiatrault and his 21-year-old son, William Filiatrault.

Both men are charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault and kidnapping.

They are due to appear in court on Monday.
