Fire At Burnaby, B.C., Home Uncovers Suspected Drug Lab

Darpan News Desk The Canadian Press, 08 Oct, 2016 02:04 PM
BURNABY, B.C. — Police are investigating a suspected drug lab after a fire broke out at a Burnaby, B.C., home.

Fire crews who responded to the blaze Friday night found signs inside the building that suggested a drug operation was taking place.

Police say the building may have been used as a solvent extraction site, where chemicals from everyday medication are extracted to make illicit substances.

Four people were taken into custody by the RCMP at the time of the blaze but have since been released.

Police say they are now searching the site and going through boxes of materials.

Neighbours in the area say they are shocked by the discovery.
