A man charged in a fatal hit and run in Vancouver last year has pleaded guilty to criminal negligence causing death.
Eoghan Byrne was killed on July 19th, 2022 in the Kitsilano neighbourhood in a collision that was captured on surveillance video.
The video shows Byrne flying several metres after being struck by a vehicle that does not stop.
A sentencing hearing for Alexandre Romero Arata is scheduled for January 11th.
A statement from Castlegar RCMP says the crash happened Thursday as the 18-year-old woman and 15 other Quebec students were aboard the bus while taking part in the program at the nearby college.
No suspects have been identified but a silver four-door Infiniti was spotted leaving the area and police are determining if a burning car found a short time later about five kilometres away could be connected.
