  • Identity of man killed in Langley shooting released

Homicide detectives are releasing the identity of a man killed in a shooting in Langley over the weekend in hopes of advancing the investigation.

Police say Johnathan Hebrada-Walters of Edmonton was known to police, and initial investigation indicates he was the victim of a targeted shooting.

Hebrada-Walters was killed on September 21st near Willoughby, where police responded to shots fired at the scene and found one man dead and another victim injured.

The injured man, whose identity, has not been released, is also known to police, and investigators say the shooting is likely linked to the ongoing gang conflict in B-C.

They released surveillance footage of a man pouring flammable liquid on the front door of a home before setting it on fire around 3 A-M on March 27th. Police say a 23-year-old resident of the home was able to extinguish the fire, leaving the home with what they say was relatively minor damage.

The B-C Conservation Officer Service says three rifles have been seized and four people are under investigation after the carcass of a grizzly bear was found near Quesnel. The post says there is an open season for black bears but there is no such season for grizzlies.
