Large police presence in downtown Maple Ridge

Darpan News Desk The Canadian Press, 11 Jun, 2021 10:29 AM
  • Large police presence in downtown Maple Ridge

Ridge Meadows RCMP has executed a search warrant on a property in downtown Maple Ridge.

On Friday morning, June 11th, at around 7:00 AM, the Ridge Meadows RCMP’s Street Enforcement Unit, with assistance from the RCMP’s Emergency Response Team, executed a search warrant in the 22100 block area of Lougheed Hwy. Three people have been safely arrested.

The public can expect to see a large police presence during an incident such as this as it is always best to scale back resources after an initial incident has occurred and the scene is safely secured, states Constable Julie Klaussner. This investigation is still unfolding and in the early stages but there are no concerns or danger to public safety.

Police will be in the area for most of the day. Further details may be available once charges have been approved in a BC Provincial Court process.

No other investigational details are available at this time.
