NANAIMO, B.C. — Vancouver Island University in Nanaimo, B.C., was briefly locked down this morning as police investigated a report of someone with a possible gun.

RCMP Const. Gary O'Brien says a report came in around 10:30 a.m. of a man spotted with photography equipment and something in his back pocket that looked like a firearm.

He says police were continuing their search until satisfied that they had a handle on the situation and would advise Vancouver Island University of their findings.
