There’s lots going around this Family Day. From special offers to exciting events, here’s our pick of some of the best ways to celebrate with family and loved ones:
 
1. VanDusen Botanical Garden: stroll around 55 acres of lush green, discover a fantastic collection of over 7,000 plants and explore the local wildlife with family at VanDusen this Family Day. Monday Feb 8th, the famous botanical garden is offering free admission from 10am to 4pm. So, bundle up and head out for an adventurous picnic with the young and loved ones! Don’t miss the Bloedel Conservatory, it’s free for the day too!
 
2. Whistler: nothing better than heading out to the village and indulging in some adventurous activities with family- trust me, there is lots to explore family apart from skiing and snowboarding. The village has organized fun activities and plays for a family-oriented adventure. Choose from the Fire & Ice Show, Outdoor Ice Skating, Winter Scavenger Hunt and lots more. Not with kids? No problem, challenge yourself to winter ziplining, ice climbing, winter bungee jumping and more!
 
3. Britannia Mine Museum: the museum is offering 50% off on admission for Family Day. Take a tour of the old mining tunnels with underground tours at 20 min intervals or try you luck finding gold at Gold Panning Pavilion. Also discover exhibits, heritage site and lots more at the Britannia Museum!
 
4. Armstrong Spallumcheen Parks & Recreation: a variety of free activities to choose from here- ice-skating, movies, indoor skatepark and rollerskating. Events and activities take place at Norval Arena, Kin Indoor Skatepark and Centennial Theatre. Enjoy!
 
5. Children’s Arts Festival: held annually in Richmond, this creative event has become a favourite amongst kids and this year it promises to be bigger and better. Kids under 12 can indulge in artistic workshops led by professional artists and performers. This year, kids get to meet Kallie George, creator of the Magical Animal Adoption Agency series and enjoy the magical story of the Wizard of Oz in an artistic manner.
