VANCOUVER — Worksafe BC and the BC Coroner's Service are investigating a fatal workplace accident on Wednesday afternoon in West Vancouver.
Police say a worker was thrown from an excavator when it accidentally overturned while working at the top of a steep slope.
It happened at a construction site (on Chippendale Road) shortly after 1:30 p.m.
Police say the 34-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.
His name has not been released.

The Surrey Fire Department and ambulance services responded to a report of an unresponsive man found near a Safeway grocery store around 10 p.m. Friday.
Police say the pedestrians reported seeing the body in a watery ditch on Saturday afternoon.
At about 6:00 pm, the teenage girl was walking along St. George Street near 20th Avenue when a man ran up from behind her, knocked her to the ground, and struck her on the leg.
