23 Jan, 2020 06:57 PM

Vancouver Police have identified 31-year-old Mathieu Flynn, of Richmond, as the victim in the city’s second homicide of the year.

Mr. Flynn was found by a passerby in the parking lot of Marine Gateway Cineplex near SW Marine Drive and Cambie Street just before 8:30 p.m. on Saturday, January 18.

“This incident happened in a very public, busy area,” says Constable Tania Visintin, VPD. “We believe several people may have video from their vehicle or information that could help detectives solve this homicide.”

No arrests have been made. VPD investigators do not believe there is a risk to the public.

Police are asking anyone with dash cam footage or those who have vehicles equipped with factory video surveillance (specifically from a Tesla) who were inside the parking garage at 452 SW Marine Drive between 6 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. on Saturday to contact homicide detectives at 604-717-2500.
