Manitoba NDP Demand Liberals Drop Candidate Over Social Media Comments

The Canadian Press, 02 Mar, 2016 01:18 PM
WINNIPEG — Manitoba New Democrats say a Liberal candidate in the upcoming election should be dropped because of his social media comments.

NDP caucus spokesperson Sharon Blady says comments by Liberal Jamie Hall are offensive to women, and should have been caught by the party.

On Twitter, Hall referred to a female friend as a "skank."

In another post, he asks whether a whore can be a whore if no one hears her scream.

Hall, who was nominated Tuesday night as the Liberal candidate in Southdale, says he is not sexist and some of his posts are based in humour.

He says another tweet, which states that "feminists are so sexist" was a quote from comedian Bill Maher
