Maple Ridge, B.C. Woman, 69, Suffers Cuts In Bear Attack

    MAPLE RIDGE, B.C. — A woman suffered cuts to her face Wednesday evening when she was attacked by a bear in Maple Ridge, B.C.
     
    An official with the Provincial Health Services Authority Carol Boutin says the injuries suffered by the 69-year-old woman are not considered serious.
     
    There was no immediate word on what may have provoked the attack or if the victim was on a trail or on her property (near Anderson Pacific Forest Products).
     
    The woman's name has not been released.
