Darpan News Desk The Canadian Press, 01 Feb, 2016 12:08 PM
VANCOUVER — A 40-year-old Surrey man who went missing while snowboarding on Cypress Mountain has been found dead.

Mike Danks of North Shore Rescue says the man's body was found near Montizambert Creek, a very rocky area.

He says an attempt was made Saturday morning to long-line in three rescuers, but due to weather they had to abort the plan and wait for better conditions.

He says weather improved at around noon and the body was recovered from the west side of Cypress.

The man was snowboarding in the area with a woman on Friday morning, and rescuers were called in after he failed to return to his vehicle by 2:30 p.m.

Danks says the situation is unfortunate for his members and offered his condolences to the family.
