More child care spaces in Powell River

Darpan News Desk The Canadian Press, 27 Jan, 2025 01:32 PM
  • More child care spaces in Powell River

Another 28 child care spaces have opened up for children in Powell River.

A statement from B-C's Education Ministry says the spaces at Kelly Creek Community school include a dozen for children younger than three years of age, as well as 16 spots for children aged three to five.

The ministry says the province partnered with the qathet School District to build the school's new child care centre.

It says the government also worked with the district to open another child care centre at Edgehill Elementary school last fall, and the two projects bring a combined total of 56 new child care spaces to the community.
