BOLT Safety Society has launched a Canada-wide Sexual Violence and Domestic Abuse Referral Program.
This initiative builds on years of direct requests from individuals seeking assistance, underscoring the growing need for an accessible, confidential referral service that helps connect people with appropriate support.
The BSS program reduces barriers to accessing support by connecting individuals with information on trusted community resources in a safe, confidential, and trauma-informed manner. Recognizing that navigating available services can be overwhelming, particularly following experiences of violence or abuse, the program provides personalized resource research while protecting the privacy of those seeking assistance.

To date, BSS’ impact includes training over 1,300 workshop participants, scaling a safe spaces network to 63 locations across 20 Canadian cities, operating a national safety hotline, and reaching over 11,000 people through active bystander efforts at events. BSS is currently working on two global documentary film productions investigating human rights and violence across borders. Recently, BOLT Safety Society’s work was recognized with a $5,000 contribution from the Government of Canada Volunteer Awards.
