  • One arrested after unauthorized aircraft access at Vancouver airport

Police say a person has been arrested after they "accessed an aircraft without authorization" at Vancouver International Airport.

Richmond RCMP say officers were called to the airport after the incident at about 4 a.m. Monday.

The detachment says in a news release that the response involved "specialized police resources" as well as staff at the airport but did provide more circumstances around the security breach.

Police say the situation was resolved and a person taken into custody.

They say the investigation is ongoing.

Vancouver International Airport's flight information system is showing few delays and no cancellations as of 9 a.m.
