White Rock fire officials say one person is dead after a blaze broke out in an apartment unit.
Firefighters were called to the building over the weekend and contained the blaze to one apartment, but there was water and smoke damage in other areas.
Officials say the victim was in the apartment where the fire originated and it is not considered suspicious.
The identity of the victim has not been released.
The cash is believed to have been dropped sometime in early September 2022. Coquitlam RCMP is also encouraging the public to make police reports if they lose a large sum of cash.
The senior was headed to catch a bus around 5:30 p.m. when a stranger pushed her down, threatened her with a knife, and demanded money. The victim began to scream and the suspect fled without getting any cash.
