Possibility of foreign interference in B-C's elections

Premier David Eby says he met with the regional director of Canada's spy agency over the possibility of foreign interference in B-C's elections.

Eby says he found it frustrating that he was not able to receive information on the matter because he was told he's not a direct client of the Canadian Security Intelligence Service.

However, he says an agreement was struck to give the B-C government advance notice on any information received about foreign meddling around elections.

Eby's comments today around the same time the federal government announced it was expelling Chinese diplomat Zhao Wei, whom C-SIS says was involved in a plot to intimidate Conservative M-P Michael Chong and his relatives in Hong Kong.

B.C. to launch fall COVID-19 booster campaign

Provincial health officer Dr. Bonnie Henry says the immunization campaign will also include more opportunities to get the flu vaccine as respiratory illnesses are expected to return after a decline due to COVID restrictions. The National Advisory Committee on Immunization recommends people receive their second booster dose at least six months or longer after their first booster.
