Update: The intersection of 108 Avenue and 140 Street is now open to traffic

Surrey RCMP is advising the public that the road closure as previously reported at 108 Avenue and 140 Street has now ended and traffic is back to normal.

EARLIER STORY: 

Surrey RCMP is advising the public of road closures at 108 Avenue and 140 Street following a serious motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian.

On October 14, 2021 at 05:39 a.m., Surrey RCMP responded to the report of a motor vehicle collision that involved a pedestrian at the intersection of 108 Avenue and 140 Street. The pedestrian sustained significant injuries and has been transported to hospital. 

Investigators from the Surrey RCMP Criminal Collison Investigation Team (CCIT) are on scene conducting their investigation. The driver remained on scene and is cooperating with police.

Please be advised that 108 Avenue and 140 Street will be shut down in all directions until further notice. We are asking the public to avoid the area.

If you were in this area at the time of the collision and have dashcam footage, please contact Surrey RCMP. AS well, if you were a witness to this incident and have not spoken to Police, please call us.
