Vancouver Police say they've arrested a suspect in a hit-and-run crash that killed a woman in her 80s on the city's east side.

Police say the driver did not stop after hitting the woman, who was crossing at Nanaimo and East Hastings streets yesterday afternoon.

Anyone who witnessed the crash or who may have dash-camera footage from the area at around 2:20 p-m local time yesterday is asked to call the police.

Police were called to a home in Fort St. James on February 25th last year. Thirty-six year old John Lazare was found dead from a gunshot wound and investigators said at the time that the attack was targeted and there was no risk to the public.
