Police are asking for the public's help in finding a suspect who seriously injured an 85-year-old man in an unprovoked assault in Coquitlam.

R-C-M-P they were notified in May of the attack in Pioneer Park that took place on Saturday, March 18th, when the senior was approached from behind by an unknown man walking two leashed dogs.

The Mounties say the suspect dropped the leashes and the dogs ran toward the victim before the suspect approached the man and punched him in the face.

Police are looking for two witnesses who helped the man and for the suspect, described as a white man, about five-foot-five inches tall, with a strong build who has one white dog and another golden-orange dog.
