Sensational Singer Diljit Dosanjh To Perform In Abbotsford

  • Sensational Singer Diljit Dosanjh To Perform In Abbotsford
Fans of Diljit Dosanjh – one of the leading artists in the Punjabi music industry are in for a treat. The famous singer-actor is coming to British Columbia to perform in Abbotsford on May 16.

The live in concert by Diljit feat Jatinder Shah (a well-known music composer), organized by White Hill Productions, will take place on 16 at Abbotsford Entertainment Center, 8 pm.

“The concert is a part of the promotions for Diljit’s upcoming film, Sardaar Ji,” says Manmord Sidhu, CEO of White Hill Productions and producer of the Punjabi film, Sardaar Ji. “The preparations are going great. The production team organizing the show is very good and different, and has done shows for artists like Drake and Madonna.”

Dosanjh’s first recorded mainstream performance was his solo track and music video ‘Ishq Da Uda Ada’ from his 2000 album. The singer-actor, whose film, Jatt & Juliet (also produced by White Hill Productions) is counted among the most successful Punjabi movies in history, will be seen along with actors Mandy Takhar and Neeru Bajwa in Sardaar Ji.

About 60 per cent of the tickets of the concert are sold so far, and Sidhu believes the show will be a house full event. “This is the first time a Punjabi show has opened on Ticketmaster, and about 20 per cent of the tickets are already sold out through that medium. As the date of the event nears, all the tickets will be sold out.”

The concert will be different from the others Dosanjh has been a part of. For one, this is his first concert in Vancouver where he will be performing with his own band.

“Also, Diljit will be performing a lot of songs which haven’t even been recorded or made official in public yet. There will also be a ‘Meet and Greet’ section at the concert,” reveals Sidhu.

The highlight of the event, says Sidhu, is Dosanjh performing with his own band. “Fans of the singer who have only heard his songs online or on CDs will get to hear them live,” says Sidhu, further adding that some of Diljit’s famous songs like ‘Patiala Peg’ and songs from Punjab 1984 will be part of the concert.

After his concert in Abbotsford, Dosanjh will be performing in Calgary on May 17, Edmonton on May 18 and Brampton on May 23.

“It’s going to be a good family show,” says Sidhu in conclusion.

Tickets for the Abbotsford concert are being sold at Payal Business Center - #397, 8148 - 128th Street Surrey, BC V3W 1R1
