  • Surrey Canada Day 2026 draws over 80,000

More than 80,000 people gathered at Bill Reid Millennium Amphitheatre in Cloverdale yesterday for Surrey Canada Day 2026, reinforcing its reputation as Western Canada’s largest free Canada Day celebration.

Presented by Prospera, the event delivered a full day of free festivities, headlined by Canadian country star Josh Ross, with performances from Lee Aaron and Tyler Shaw. The celebration featured live entertainment across four stages, an Indigenous Village and Marketplace, amusement rides, food trucks, beer gardens, and a fireworks finale.

“This year’s Surrey Canada Day showcased the very best of Canada,” Mayor Brenda Locke said. “At a time when it is more important than ever to celebrate what unites us, thousands of people came together to share in our pride as Canadians and in the diversity that makes our country stronger. Thank you to everyone who attended, and to the sponsors, volunteers, performers and staff who helped make this year’s celebration such a memorable success.”

Attendees enjoyed a wide range of attractions across the site, including the Community Hub, which featured DJs, dance battles, and, new this year, the Chapman’s Chill Zone offering free ice cream samples. The Indigenous Village and Marketplace provided opportunities for cultural sharing and connection, while families took part in free activities and performances in the Family Zone.

“Surrey Canada Day is always a great event,” said Raquel Santos, manager of community engagement at Prospera. “It’s fantastic to see our community come together, celebrate, and have fun. The event has so much to offer, and we really welcome these opportunities to be involved and make connections.”
