  • Surrey RCMP locate deceased male inside Surrey home after a shooting

Surrey RCMP is advising the public of an investigation in Surrey that has been turned over the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) after a person was located deceased inside a residence.

On Sunday evening, Jan 9, 2022  just before 6:00 p.m., Surrey RCMP was called to a residence in the 13500-block of 84Avenue for a report of deceased person located. Upon attendance, an adult male victim was found inside the residence and confirmed to be deceased.

Initial evidence suggests that a shooting occurred at the residence in the morning, but went unreported until the victim was located.

The area surrounding the scene was cordoned off for a significant amount of time, which included a road closure on 84 Avenue both directions between King George Boulevard and 135A Street.  IHIT has been called and will be working in partnership with the Surrey RCMP.

Police are currently in the evidence gathering phase of the investigation. Further details will be handled by the IHIT Media Relations Officer.

Anyone with information regarding this investigation can call the IHIT Information Line at 1-877-551-IHIT (4448) or by email at ihitinfo@rcmp-grc.gc.ca.
