  • Suspect allegedly involved in two shootings in Richmond in-custody

Richmond RCMP are currently investigating 2 shootings in separate locations.

At approximately 12:30 pm Richmond RCMP received a report of an alleged shooting that took place around 12:00 pm near Dyke and No 4 Rd. While officers were investigating this incident, Richmond RCMP received a report of a second shooting at approximately 1:10 pm in the 10000 block of Granville Ave.

At approximately 3:12 pm a man who is believed to be connected to the shootings was taken into custody in Vancouver.

Fortunately, no one was injured in either of the shootings or during the arrest.

There are no concerns for public safety at this time.

The motive for these shootings and whether there is a nexus to the Lowermainland gang conflict are still under investigation.

Richmond RCMP Serious Crime have conduct of this investigation. As this investigation is in its preliminary stages no further information will be released at this time.
