A 42-year-old man has been charged with mischief over an incident at the Cloverdale Cenotaph in Surrey more than five months ago.
R-C-M-P say the suspect was arrested on July 18th over an incident in which the cenotaph's statue of a kneeling soldier was dismantled.
The Mounties say their investigation also led them to charge the suspect over another incident where cameras were damaged outside a Surrey business on the same night in March.
He's set to appear in court next month.
R-C-M-P assistant commissioner Brian Edwards says anyone with knowledge of the murder should come forward as witnesses. Nijjar was accused of terrorism and conspiracy to murder in India, but there's no indication yet of a motive for the murder.
Locke said Farnworth has been "a bully all the way through" the city council process that ultimately determined it would revert to the RCMP, well into the transition to an independent municipal force.
