Suspect in multiple Alberta stabbings that left one man dead arrested in B.C.

    CHILLIWACK, B.C. — Mounties in Chilliwack, B.C., have arrested a suspect accused of stabbing four men in Sexsmith, Alta.

    Twenty-eight-year-old Jordan Wendland is charged with one count of second-degree murder and three counts of aggravated assault.

    Police say a Canada-wide warrant was issued for Wendland after the stabbings on Sunday when one of the victims died.

    Wendland was last seen in Grand Prairie, Alta., and was believed to have escaped to B.C.

    Mounties are crediting tips from the public in locating Wendland at a home in the Fraser Valley community on Wednesday.

    He remains in custody and is expected to make his first court appearance in Grand Prairie at a later date.
