Darpan News Desk The Canadian Press, 18 Jun, 2018 01:30 PM
TROIS-RIVIERES, Que. — A Quebec teenager has been arrested after another teen was beaten in an attack filmed and shared on social media.

The suspect is expected to be arraigned today in Quebec youth court in the city of Trois-Rivieres, located about halfway between Montreal and Quebec City.

Trois-Rivieres police Sgt. Luc Mongrain says the teen faces charges of assault causing bodily harm and theft of less than $5,000.

The 16-year-old victim told reporters he was sitting on a bench Friday when a young man asked to fight him.

He said he refused and told the other teen he'd done nothing wrong and didn't know him.

The victim said after regaining consciousness, passersby ignored him for nearly 15 minutes as he asked for assistance.
