Thieves Target Unlocked Doors And Windows In New Westminster, B.C.

Darpan News Desk The Canadian Press, 12 Aug, 2016 11:56 AM
New Westminster – Recently, the New Westminster Police Department has investigated several residential break and enters where thieves have entered through an insecure door or window.

The recent break-ins have occurred in the Sapperton area of New Westminster, but all residents of the City are reminded to lock their doors and windows.

“With the warm summer weather, we want to remind the public to ensure their residences are secured,” stated Media Relations Officer Acting Sergeant Jeff Scott.

“Even if you’re in the backyard having a barbeque or mowing the lawn, it’s a good idea to lock your front door to have the peace of mind that your property is secure. We strive to continue having one of the safest and most livable communities in the Lower Mainland.”

Residents are encouraged to report all suspicious persons and occurrences to 604-525-5411.
