  • Threatening note received at Langley Islamic Center

Langley RCMP is continuing their investigation into the threatening letter received by The Islamic Center in Langley City on August 26th.

Investigators have engaged the BC Hate Crime Unit and INSET (Integrated National Security Enforcement Team) to collaborate and are endeavouring to identify the author of the note and following all investigative avenues in this investigation.

Staff Sergeant Loi Ly, Langley RCMP Investigative Services Commander, It is concerning when something like this happens in the community. We are engaging all the appropriate resources and developing further investigative strategies as well as working closely with the leadership of the Langley Islamic Center. This type of behaviour will not be tolerated.

Officers will continue to work with the leadership of the Islamic Center to address safety concerns and develop strategies going forward.
