Trio Arrested For Multiple Vancouver Home Break-ins

Darpan News Desk, 12 Oct, 2016 12:46 PM
The VPD have arrested three suspects believed to be involved in burglaries to newly built houses.

Homes under construction or that have been recently built can become the target of thieves looking to break in and steal construction material, tools, appliances, and yes, sometimes the kitchen sink.

Earlier this month, investigators began looking at a person of interest regarding a series of incidents in and around Vancouver where individuals were breaking into these homes and taking the brand new appliances.

Shortly before 1:00 pm on Saturday October 8th, police observed their suspect who was dressed in a utility repair uniform, and a second man, park a van behind a home near Rupert Street and Vanness Avenue. Officers allege the two men then broke into the home and stole a brand new dishwasher.

The pair drove away and met with a third man about 30 minutes later. The stolen appliance was transferred or sold to this third person and placed into his vehicle. Both vehicles left and were later stopped by police.

A 29-year-old man from Coquitlam, a 26-year-old New Westminster resident, and a 27-year-old Vancouver man were arrested and police have recommended charges of break and enter and possession of stolen property.
