  • Two 18 year old men arrested in Chilliwack stabbings

Chilliwack Mounties have arrested two men in connection with an alleged stabbing which occurred near Liumchen Forest Service Road off Chilliwack Lake Road early Monday morning.

Shortly before 2 am on Monday, September 5th, 2022, Chilliwack RCMP were called to a report of a stabbing in the area of Liumchen Creek Forest Service Road off Chilliwack Lake Road. Preliminary investigation suggests that a large group of youth had been camping in the area when an altercation ensued between the group and two other young men who were not known to the group. During the altercation, two youth were assaulted by a man with a knife .

The victims, aged 16 and 17 years, were treated for lacerations which were non life threatening in nature.

Chilliwack RCMP arrested two 18 year old men in connection to this incident. One man has been released without charge while the other has been released on an undertaking to appear in court on September 27th.

Investigation into this incident continues. Police are asking any witnesses and anyone who may have cell phone footage of the altercation to call the Chilliwack RCMP.

The woman assaulted Chief Manak after a blanketing ceremony by pouring a liquid on him. She then moved away from the area. Chief Manak, who was attending the memorial at the invitation of Chantel Moore’s mother, was not physically harmed. The assault was captured on video.
