Two Men Found Dead, Third Still Missing In B.C. Search That Involved Hundreds

Darpan News Desk The Canadian Press, 03 Feb, 2020 06:30 PM

SOOKE, B.C. - There's been a tragic end to a weekend search for three young men on southern Vancouver Island.

RCMP Staff Sgt. Janelle Shoihet says the vehicle the three men were in was located near Sooke River Road on Sunday and the bodies of two of the men have been recovered.

She says the search for the third man continues with the help of Juan de Fuca Search and Rescue.

Police said in an earlier news release that Cory Mills, Eric Blackmore and AJ Jensen, all 20 years old, were last seen at a home in Sooke, B.C., late Friday night.

The men were in a 2004 blue Dodge Dakota and it was unclear where they going.

Victoria Weber of Juan de Fuca Search and Rescue says hundreds of people turned out to help in the search on Sunday, assisted by a helicopter, ATVs and boats scouring the shoreline.

Shoihet says the B.C. coroner's service is also investigating to determine how, when and by what means the men came to their deaths.
