Two stabbed at Sikh temple in Edmonton, police make arrest

  • Two stabbed at Sikh temple in Edmonton, police make arrest

Police are investigating a stabbing at a Sikh temple in Edmonton.

They say two men were stabbed at about 5 a.m. at the Nanaksar Gurdwara Gursikh Temple in the city’s northeast.

A man was arrested when officers arrived on scene.

Police say paramedics responded and treated the wounded for non-life-threatening injuries.

The World Sikh Organization of Canada, in a statement, said it understands the suspect actually entered the temple and also desecrated scriptures deeply revered by their religion.

Police have not confirmed those elements or speculated on a motive for the attack.
